The Telegraph & Argus has been reporting on business issues in the Bradford district for almost 150 years and our business pages and supplements have won numerous awards for both content and design. Our coverage is led by former Yorkshire & Humber Business Journalist of the Year CHRIS HOLLAND. Chris has a unique insight into the workings of business, having enjoyed a career that spans both industry and the media.
Bradford born, bred and educated, Chris started his newspaper career on the Shipley Times & Express and eventually became Industrial Correspondent of the Telegraph & Argus, a post he held for eight years. It was this role that led to him taking on the position of Northern Regional Information Officer for the Confederation of British Industry for five years before moving to Bradford & Bingley plc as Head of Corporate Affairs.
Following the society’s flotation, Chris decided to stay “mutual” and moved to the Leeds & Holbeck Building Society before taking leaving to take on a number of consultancies for mainly Yorkshire-based firms. We managed to entice him back to the T&A as Business Reporter in 2007 and our business coverage has continued to grow since.
As well as our daily business pages, we now publish a monthly business analysis and features supplement, Bradford Means Business, as well as organise the prestigious annual Bradford Means Business Awards which draw an increasing entry every year and have become an essential part of the business calendar in the district.
