A host of speakers with a wide range of expertise will be offering advice and guidance at the Bradford Business Conference.

Among those sharing the secrets of their success will be Jane Vincent, founder of the Candelisa People recruitment agency on North Parade, Bradford, and star of the recent Channel 4 fly-on-the-wall documentary series, The Job Centre. Jane will talk about her ‘roller coaster’ business life, bringing in the high and the lows, and even the the tears and the smiles.

In her conference seminar she will talk about her experiences while making the Channel 4 show, which aired in May this year, and outline the positive outcomes for her business and also the pitfalls that can arise when putting yourself up for public scrutiny. Not just a TV star, though, Jane is a canny and award-winning businesswoman who has built two recruitment agencies from scratch, and was co-founder of the Positive Bradford movement aimed at boosting the city and its people.

A seminar from Neil Wilson and Asthma Iqbal, partners in top law firm Chadwick Lawrence, will offer delegates the rare opportunity to get some free legal advice. They will look at a wide range of topics including employment law, dispute resolution and commercial property, as well as insolvency and debt recovery issues. Neil is Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence and specialises in employment and sports law, acting for a number of high profile sports personalities and professional clubs such as Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Town.

Asma heads up the law firm’s Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Department, advising businesses, directors and insolvency practitioners in corporate pre-insolvency and insolvency situations. She is a Member of the Yorkshire Asian Business Association and Regional Committee member of the R3 Business in Recovery association for women. Asma sits on the Advisory panel of the Wakefield District Bondholders scheme and regularly participates in mentoring students wishing to enter the legal profession.

If you want to know the secrets of success, then Geoff Sober’s panel Get The Results You Want In Business, Personal And Life is the one for you. If you think you can’t have it all, Geoff is here to tell you that you’re wrong! And he’ll be sharing some very personal experiences to tell delegates just how far they can go to get what they want.

When an accident left his life plan in tatters, Geoff Sober summoned the strength to fight back. These days, he’s happy, successful and fulfilled. He lives by the mantra ‘out of adversity comes the seed of an equal or greater benefit’ and is a firm believer in the phrase ‘think and grow rich’, which was first coined by Napoleon Hill.

Geoff has been involved in the personal growth and self development world for more than 20 years and has tried many of the well known methods out there. However he found that many of these techniques provided a short term “adrenalin rush” rather than long term change. When Geoff discovered the Lotus Seed Life programme in the US he created lasting change very quickly in his own life and then has continued to facilitate long-term change within others for the last nine years.

Aside from a plan for your life, you definitely need a plan for your business – and Andy Hartley and Dr Nick Howcroft’s Business Clinic is designed to show you how to draw up an unbeatable one. The Alternative Board helps thousands of business owners around the world to clarify what they most want from their business and to achieve the business and personal success they have always dreamed of. This mini surgery will introduce you to their Strategic Business Leadership programme and show how it can be used to create a One Page Business Plan that will get delegates focused on the critical success factors for success in business, and in life.
